Fifteen Years…

Reece Productions was founded on the 13th January 2003 in a garage in Essex…

…but that doesn’t seem to have held us back at all!

I’m not sure it feels like that long ago since I wrote about us turning 10 years old, and much of what I wrote there still stands. The technology of live production continues to move along at the same pace – perhaps we’re seeing more marginal gains in quality & operation than big ground-breaking changes – and the conversion to ‘digital’ for all the departments (apart from the stage!) seems to be complete.

We are still proud to be a small company. We’ve moved to bigger premises, we’ve got new toys, but we’re still doing what we do.

Our recent investments in the Allen & Heath dLive system, and new Analog Way Saphyr switcher shows our continued efforts to find the right products for our core markets.

The biggest change in the last 12 months, is in the way we have started to divide our business group structure. This is mostly to help us with our marketing, using different devices to attract new customers to our business. Later in 2018 we’ll be making the final steps legally to create a group structure at a company level, but none of this will change the way we deliver our services…

Funnily, I’m writing these musings in-between running a conference for a video-conferencing company. I’m enjoying the beautiful dichotomy that they have a live event and gather their sales team from around the globe to talk about a video product that everyone said would make live events redundant 15 years ago, so I still feel there is hope yet…
