So, squeezed in-between an awards ceremony on Thursday (working with WhiteSpace Creative Solutions for Informa) and a 2 day conference (ITC), I managed to squeeze in a slightly different job to our norm, providing a lighting and video package to InMe as part of their Overgrown Butterfly tour, featuring our very own Simon Taylor bashing away on drums (although he did questionably come out from behind the kit a few times….). Utilising the O2 Academy Islington’s in house rig, combined with our ProLights battens, Robe 4ce7’s and brand new Avolites Tiger Touch 2 for lighting, with video driven from a media server going to two 47” screens (that lead singer Dave McPherson couldn’t help but walk into on route to stage!) along with the venue’s large central screen, displaying video footage created by Simon.
Playing both their first album, Overgrown Eden & follow up White Butterfly in full, along with support from Dorje, the gig was certainly loud and enjoyed by all, having sold out weeks in advance. Highly enjoyable to light the guys again, having been over 2 years since I’d been free on a suitable day to do so, looking forward to the next chance, which maybe sooner than some might imagine, keep an eye on InMe’s Facebook page on Sept 30th for more info on that!
